Upvotes from real people, weighted by account trust.
Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC, then ranks freeze.
Paid launches live in their own labelled lane.
How launches are ranked.
Every launch on the weekly board gets one score, updated as people interact with it. The biggest part of that score is upvotes, each one weighted by how trustworthy the voting account is.
- Trust-weighted votes do most of the work. A vote from an established, verified account counts more than one from an account created yesterday.
- Quality comments add a little. Specific questions and real feedback count; copy-paste congratulations and link drops don't.
- Genuine interest from real visitors also counts, with diminishing returns, so one viral post can't run away with the week. Bots and the makers' own visits are ignored.
Ties go to whoever reached the score first. When the week closes on Sunday at 23:59 UTC, final ranks are frozen and never change afterwards. The top three become that week's winners.
Votes and trust.
Every account has a trust level built from verified identities (X, GitHub, LinkedIn), account age, karma and behaviour. You always see the plain upvote count on the board; the ranking uses the weighted version.
- Brand-new accounts count for less during their first couple of days.
- Verifying a social account brings a vote up to full weight.
- Makers can't vote on their own launch.
- You can remove your vote at any time while voting is open.
Featured launches are separate.
Makers who buy a Pro Launch ($49) appear in the Featured launches block, clearly labelled and shown apart from the community ranking.
- Featured launches are never ranked and never become weekly winners.
- Buying Boost or Pro adds nothing to the score.
- Every paid or sponsored placement carries a visible label.
Dofollow links.
Every product gets a permanent page with a link to its website. Whether that link passes SEO value depends on a few simple rules:
Product pages with a dofollow link show a small "Dofollow" tag, so you always know what you are getting.
Badge rules.
Add the DodoLaunch badge anywhere crawlable on your site. The footer is fine.
We check for the badge regularly and keep your link dofollow while it is there.
If it disappears, you get an email and 7 days to put it back. The link stays dofollow meanwhile.
After 7 days without the badge the link becomes nofollow. Add it back and the next check restores it.
Keeping it fair.
- Vote rings and duplicate accounts are detected and their votes removed, with the launch rescored.
- Unusually fast voting or commenting is rate limited.
- Bots, crawlers and link previews never count toward anything.
- Promotional or very short comments are held for a moderator before they appear.
- Thin products built only to farm links don't pass review.
- Anyone can report a product, comment or review. Moderators look at every report.
